Traveling Players believes teens and pre-teens are more capable than they are often given credit for. We're committed to making sure all of our students feel challenged and inspired by the work they perform. For our Mythology Ensemble, we commission new plays on ancient tales – providing young actors with quality scripts worthy of their imaginations. The production will include an original score composed by Nathan Sherwood Liang.
Arachne is the 11th script that Traveling Players has commissioned from award-winning playwright Judith Walsh White. Two of those ten scripts have subsequently been published, with Traveling Players performers listed as The Original Cast – an honor professional actors work their whole careers hoping to achieve. These plays have since received performances in Australia, Saudi Arabia, China, Canada, the UK, and Gibraltar, as well as throughout the US, including The Actor’s Theatre of Louisville.
We pride ourselves on our robust support systems (including a small student:faculty ratio), ensuring a safe experience where campers can grow and thrive. We welcome and integrate each new camper into our community, and our culture of kindness and courage shines through every aspect of our ensemble. It’s no surprise that 70% of our campers come back for one or more years.

Your child will flourish with our unusually small 1:4 faculty:student ratio. We ensure each performer gets the attention they deserve rather than waiting in the wings for their cue. We make sure they get a chance to shine on stage – and off stage, too.
We are phone-free. Children enjoy camp with open eyes and hearts – not hunched over a screen. Unplugged from the stress of social media, they can forge real friendships with their peers, making connections that last a lifetime!
We affirm each student’s strengths – and then challenge them to keep growing beyond their comfort zone. Our staff invest in each actor, helping them earn self-confidence. We train our students to be not only great actors, but also great people.
Theatre began as stories told around the campfire. We continue this tradition with a summer camp that feels like summer, teaching our campers outdoor skills like fire-building, campfire cooking, and sleeping in tents!
