Middle School Theatre Festival

        The deadline to apply for the third Annual Greater Washington Middle School Theatre is just one week away – October 23, 2024.  This festival is a unique opportunity for students to connect and learn with other young thespians from the Washington region.

More about the festival: 

        The Greater Washington Middle School Theatre Festival is exclusively for middle school students. Its mission is to help students to connect and learn with peers while celebrating the joy of theater!  Held at the conveniently located Traveling Players Studio in Tysons Corner, schools from across the region are welcome to attend. 

Each school gets 30 minutes on stage, during which they may present any of the following:

• A One Act
• Excerpt(s) from a longer play or musical 
• Scenes on a specific topic (i.e.: friendship, villains, hope)

Student work and students in leadership roles are highly encouraged!

        Traveling Players Studio is metro accessible; schools may bus, drop off, or take the Silver Line to our festival location.  We have ample free parking, too!

        The Greater Washington Middle School Theatre Festival will take place Dec 9-11.  Participating schools will attend the festival for one full day, enjoying deep connections with a “partner school” and receiving helpful feedback from directors and peers.
