Ready to join us?
Wonderful!
Here is what your child’s acting camp will look like:

“Henry has discovered his passion at your camp. As a father, you hope you can just timely feed what interests them. We were thrilled when we saw something beautiful bloom this summer – because of you folks.” – Parent of Henry, grade 4

Monday – Welcome to Theatre!
On Monday, your camper will be introduced to the wonderful world of theatre (and some wonderful new friends) with fun improv games that stretch their imagination.

Tuesday – Let’s Move!
On Tuesday, campers will learn how to use their bodies to embody a character through movement games, improv games, and a stage combat lesson – don’t worry,  no one gets hurt, that’s the magic!  Theatre is more like a sport than most people realize – and good acting requires you to use your whole body.

They will also receive their scene (from a play on Greek mythology) for the final showcase.

Wednesday – Make a Scene!
On Wednesday, your camper will learn how to analyze a script and how to share the story's secrets with the audience. Playwrights litter a script with clues that reveal secrets about the characters. An actor’s job is to be a detective and figure out what those clues mean.

Thursday – Find Your Voice!
On Thursday, campers will learn more techniques that will help them speak up and speak clearly so that they are ready to be heard for their final showcase!

Friday – Take a Bow!
A great performance comes from putting all of the pieces together – improv, movement, voice, and script analysis – to share the story with an audience.

On Friday, campers will receive costumes and have a dress rehearsal before they welcome friends and family into the Studio for their showcase performance!

**Coming to Players Studio? You’ll have another full week with your Showcase on the second Friday!
